In a video, while still in office, he accused President Nicolás Maduro of ordering López's arrest and revealed the pressures and threats he faced to fabricate evidence for the trial. On October 27, 2015, he was dismissed by Luisa Ortega from Venevisión, who claimed his statements were false.
