Freddie S. Summers is a former American football defensive back who played for the Cleveland Browns in the NFL for three seasons. Drafted in the fourth round of the 1969 NFL/AFL draft, he initially attended McCook Community College before transferring to Wake Forest University, playing quarterback there. Summers is a graduate of Dorchester High School in Boston, Massachusetts. He was traded to the New York Giants in June 1972 and later placed on injured waivers before the start of the season.
