Freddye Scarborough Henderson was an influential American businesswoman and travel agent born on February 18, 1917. She pioneered travel agencies aimed at African-Americans, establishing the first accredited black travel agency in the U.S. with Henderson Travel Service. Aside from her travel ventures, she was a noted fashion editor and columnist. Henderson also contributed to education by teaching fashion at Spelman College. She was married to Jacob R. Henderson and played a significant role in planning Martin Luther King Jr.'s trip for his Nobel Peace Prize. She passed away on January 19, 2007.
