Frimod Joensen (1915-1997) was a self-taught Faroese painter known for his colorful and naive style. He initially worked as a sailor before moving to Copenhagen in 1935 where he took painting lessons. In 1964, he settled in Tórshavn. His artworks, exhibited in Torshavn, Copenhagen, and Reykjavik, capture vibrant scenes from his surroundings, including landscapes, people, animals, and cosmic elements. His diverse subjects encompass farewells, prehistoric humans, space travel, shipwrecks, and romantic couples under the moonlight.
