Fyodor Grigoryevich Uglov (1904-2008) was a prominent Soviet and Russian surgeon, author, and public figure. He obtained his doctorate in medical sciences and served as a professor. Uglov was the chief editor of the journal 'Vestnik Khirurgii imeni I. I. Grekova' from 1953 to 2006. He became a full member of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences in 1967, having been a corresponding member since 1955. Uglov was awarded the Lenin Prize in 1982 and was a member of the Union of Russian Writers, joining the Communist Party of the Soviet Union in 1931.
