G. M. Premachandra (1940-1994) was a prominent Sri Lankan politician affiliated with the United National Party. He served as the Cabinet Minister of Labour and Vocational Training from 1990 to 1994 and was re-elected in the 1994 parliamentary elections. Despite belonging to the Govigama caste, he won the mainly different-caste electoral region of Mawathagama. Known for his oratory skills, he earned the nickname 'Silver Bell of Wayamba' and played a notable role in protecting citizens during political unrest alongside other key leaders.
