Gábor Stépán, born on December 13, 1953, in Budapest, is a prominent Hungarian professor of applied mechanics. He is a member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and an esteemed fellow of both the International Academy for Production Engineering (CIRP) and the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM). Stépán has served as the dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. He has received several prestigious awards, including the Széchenyi Prize in 2011 and the Delay Systems Lifetime Achievements Award in 2021.
