Gabriel Macotela is a Mexican painter, sculptor, engraver, drawer, stage designer, editor, and musician, born on August 7, 1954, in Guadalajara. He studied at La Esmeralda and completed his training at the National School of Plastic Arts of UNAM under the guidance of Gilberto Aceves Navarro. Macotela founded Cocina Ediciones in 1977 and El Archivero bookstore in 1985. He has held solo exhibitions in Mexico City and Monterrey since 1976 and participated in many collective exhibitions internationally across various countries.
