Hajia Gambo Sawaba was a prominent Nigerian women's rights activist, politician, and philanthropist, born on February 15, 1933. She played a significant role in advocating for women's rights in Nigeria. Throughout her career, she served as the deputy chairman of the Great Nigeria People's Party (GNPP) and was elected as the leader of the national women's wing of the Northern Element Progressive Union (NEPU). Her efforts contributed to the political empowerment of women in Nigeria until her passing in October 2001.
