Gangadhar Vithoba Pantawane (1937-2018) was a prominent Indian Marathi language writer and Ambedkarite thinker from Maharashtra. He contributed significantly to the dalit literary movement and was deeply influenced by B. R. Ambedkar. Pantawane served as the president of the first Marathi Vishwa Sahitya Sammelan in the United States in 2008. He founded the journal Asmitadarsh, which inspired many Dalit writers and thinkers. His contributions to literature and advocacy for Dalit rights earned him the Padma Shri award in 2018, recognizing his impact on Marathi literature.
