He is known for his significant contributions as a Special Grade Vocal Artiste in the Annamacharya Project from 1978 to 2006. Prasad is a pioneer in setting Annamacharya Sankeerthanas to various Indian musical styles. He has composed tunes for nearly 1,400 songs, including approximately 1,000 Annamacharya sankirtanas. Some of his well-known compositions are Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnukatha and Mangambudhi Hamumantha.
