Gaston Diomi Ndongala Mudietu, known as Diogas, was the first black mayor of Ngiri-Ngiri. Born in Léopoldville on August 8, 1922, he became a significant political figure, serving as a national deputy, vice-governor, and governor of Léopoldville province. He was also a businessman and a traditional chief in the Madimba area of Luila, Bas-Congo, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Ndongala passed away on October 16, 1985, in Kinshasa.
