Gautam Basu (May 13, 1955 - June 18, 2021) was a renowned Indian Bengali poet and essayist of the 1980s. He explored the moments of life with profound insight, creating poetry that nourished the inquisitive minds of literary enthusiasts. He was awarded the Rabindra Puraskar by the Government of West Bengal in 2015. His notable works include the poetry collection 'Annapurna O Shubhokal' (1981) and also wrote analytical essays on literature, compiled in 'Gadya Sangraha'.
