Gavin Nigel Xavier Harding MBE, born on 18 March 1974, is a notable British politician and academic from Selby, North Yorkshire. He holds the distinction of being the first mayor in the UK with a formally diagnosed learning disability. A Labour councillor, he has been elected for a third term on Selby Town Council, representing Selby North ward. Harding is also the founder of the self-advocacy group Voices for People, and he serves as a senior learning disability advisor for NHS England. He received an MBE in 2014 for his contributions to disability advocacy.
