Gedalio 'Gerry' Grinberg was a Cuban-born watchmaker and the founder of the Movado Group. He began his career by selling alarm clocks and shifted to watches after moving to the U.S. in 1960. Under his leadership, Movado became known for the iconic 'Museum Watch'. Grinberg was influential in changing American perceptions of watches as status symbols and invested in innovative designs like the ultrathin Concord Delirium IV. He was also involved in philanthropic activities, including donating a clock tower in New York City. Grinberg passed away on January 4, 2009.
