Gedeon Movses Avagyants (April 12, 1919 - July 9, 1984) was an Armenian radiophysicist, a doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, and a professor. He was born in Samarkand, Turkestan Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, in the Soviet Union. Avagyants achieved significant academic recognition, becoming a corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the Armenian SSR in 1965. His contributions to the field of radiophysics are notable, establishing him as a prominent figure in Armenian science during his lifetime.
