His career included serving as a general surgeon at Kareli District Hospital, working at the Moscow Institute of Coloproctology, and leading surgical departments at Tbilisi No. 9 Hospital. He became director of the Georgian Coloproctology Center in 1983 and was elected president of the Georgian Coloproctologists Association in 2012. He passed away on July 28, 2020, in Tbilisi.
