Gen Getsu is a Japanese writer of Korean descent, known as Zainichi, born on February 10, 1965, in Osaka. He gained recognition in 1998 when he won a literary prize for his work 'Ikyō no otoshigo' and was nominated for the Akutagawa Prize the same year. He won the Akutagawa Prize the following year for his book 'Kage no sumika'. In 2003, he published another notable work titled 'Oshaberina inu'.
