Gennady Mikhasevich was a Soviet serial killer active from 1971 to 1985, committing 36 confirmed murders of women and one attempted murder. He operated mainly in the Vitebsk and Polotsk regions, as well as in the surrounding rural areas of the Byelorussian SSR. His crimes have made him one of the notorious figures in the history of serial killers in the Soviet Union.
