He is a Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences and a specialist in modeling complex processes and designing automation systems. He became an academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) in 2000 and is a member of the Presidium of RAS. Additionally, he heads the Department of High-Performance Computing Systems at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT).
