Geoffrey Hugh Muntz was an Australian politician born on July 11, 1938, in Beenleigh. He served as a member of the National Party and was elected to the Queensland Legislative Assembly in 1980 for Whitsunday. A rural and urban valuer by profession, Muntz held several ministerial positions, including Minister for Welfare Services and Tourism. He resigned from the National Party in 1989 after being convicted of misappropriation of funds and served 12 months in jail. Muntz passed away on August 8, 2024, at the age of 86.
