Geoffrey Basil Bailey Hunter (14 December 1925 – 8 June 2000) was a prominent British professor, philosopher, and logician known for his contributions to logic and philosophy. He served as Professor Emeritus at the University College of Wales, Bangor, from 1978 until his retirement in 1992. His academic journey included teaching roles at Queen's University in Ontario and the University of Leeds, as well as a position as Reader in Logic at the University of St Andrews. His notable work, 'Metalogic: An Introduction to the Metatheory of Standard First-Order Logic,' published in 1971, is widely recognized.
