George Elliott Olden was a pioneering American graphic designer known for his impactful work in television and advertising. He significantly contributed to the visual identities of iconic shows such as Gunsmoke, I Love Lucy, and Lassie during his tenure at CBS. In 1963, he made history as the first African-American graphic designer to create a postage stamp, commemorating the centennial of the Emancipation Proclamation. Olden received the AIGA medal for his achievements and was recognized by the Japanese magazine Idea as one of the top fifteen designers in the United States.
