George Albert Kasem (April 6, 1919 – February 11, 2002) was an American politician of Lebanese descent and a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from California's 25th congressional district from January 3, 1959, to January 3, 1961. He was the first Arab American elected to the U.S. Congress. Born in Drumright, Oklahoma, to Lebanese parents, he served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II. After the war, he earned a law degree from the University of Southern California and practiced law in Baldwin Park, California.
