George Dyhr Olesen was a Danish weightlifter, born on December 15, 1960, in Aarhus, and known as the 'world's strongest man'. He was a two-time Danish champion in super heavyweight weightlifting in 1982 and 1983. Olesen reportedly set 199 records in the Guinness Book of Records, notably lifting a 50-liter beer keg from the ground with straight arms 967 times in 1988. He performed shows across the U.S. with his then-girlfriend, including appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. He passed away on October 23, 2021, in Roost.
