George Pernicano (1917-2016) was an influential American businessman and co-owner of the Los Angeles Chargers when they were moved to San Diego in 1961. He held a 3% stake in the team and was inducted into the Chargers Hall of Fame in 1996. Known for his hospitality business, he opened Casa di Baffi, a prominent restaurant in Hillcrest, in 1960. He remained a dedicated fan, attending every home game until his passing. His refusal to redevelop his restaurant property after its closure frustrated local officials and businesses.
