George R. Dekle, Sr. is an American lawyer, born on May 23, 1948. He served as an Assistant State Attorney in Florida from 1975 to 2005, notably leading the prosecution in the Ted Bundy murder trial in Orlando which resulted in a death penalty. Dekle authored 'The Last Murder' in 2011 detailing the Bundy case. He was a Legal Skills Professor at the University of Florida from 2006 to 2016 and has written extensively on trial advocacy and legal history while also being a chess variant inventor.
