George Savvas (born Andrew Georgious Savvas) was an Australian criminal and drug dealer, involved in various illicit activities throughout his life. He was also a construction businessman and a council member in Marrickville, Sydney. Notoriously linked to drug trafficking and other crime, he faced numerous legal issues, including a 25-year sentence for heroin importation. He made plans for prison escapes and was involved in suspicious events around him. After various investigations, he died in his cell from suicide, which was speculated to be due to hopelessness about regaining freedom.
