George Sossenko, also known as Georges Sossenko, was a Russian-born American lecturer and activist born on December 20, 1918, and passed away on March 14, 2013. He left home at 17 to join the fight against Francisco Franco in the Spanish Civil War, where he served in the Durruti Column. Later, he fought in World War II with the Free French and the United States Fifth Army in Italy. After the war, he worked as a mechanical engineer for Michelin Tire and authored a Spanish-language book in 2004 titled 'Aventurero Idealista.'
