George Albert Starbird (1908–1994) was an American politician who served as the mayor of San Jose, California, from 1954 to 1956. He was a member of the City Council from 1950 to 1962 and played a significant role during the city’s growth period, notably contributing to the establishment of the San José–Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility. A Stanford University graduate, Starbird was also an author, publishing a book on San Jose's history and numerous mystery stories under the pseudonym Val Masterson.
