Younce became an influential member of several quartets, most notably The Cathedral Quartet, from 1964 until its dissolution in 1999. He received widespread acclaim, including multiple Singing News Fan Awards as Favorite Bass. Post-Cathedrals, he formed The Old Friends Quartet and contributed to various gospel music productions, earning his induction into the Southern Gospel and Gospel Music Halls of Fame.
