Georgios Samaridis (1911-1949) was a Greek officer in the Hellenic Army, known for his resistance activities during the German occupation of Greece as a member of ELAS (Greek People's Liberation Army) and later as a leader in the Democratic Army of Greece (DSE) during the Greek Civil War. Born in Polichnitos, Lesbos, he graduated from the Hellenic Military Academy and fought in WWII. After the war, he was involved in DSE until his death in combat. His legacy includes a posthumous promotion to brigadier general.
