He studied at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, forming his first band during his time there. Masters released four solo albums and collaborated with notable artists like Andy Gibb and Neville Staples. He later partnered with writers Aziz Ibrahim and Paul Beard, and in 2006, returned to creating music under the name Rescue Party. He also composed music for television, including the UK program 'A Handful of Smarties'.
