Gerardus Cornelis Spruit (1922–1989) was a Dutch serial killer and rapist, known as 'de Donald Duck-colporteur'. He was a magazine salesman who lured young boys to his home under false pretenses. His crimes included the murder of two young children, Bastiaan Bloemena and Hélène Isaac, in the early 1970s. Although he had a history of sexual offenses, it took years before he was caught. Spruit was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 1975 but was deemed dangerous and was not released early. He committed suicide in 1989 while incarcerated.
