Gerd Kvale is a Norwegian psychologist specializing in obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD). She graduated from the University of Bergen in 1982 and earned her Ph.D. in 1992. Kvale became a professor of clinical psychology at the same university in 2002. In 2011, she began leading an OCD project at Haukeland University Hospital. She gained recognition in 2015 when her team received the Innovation of the Year award in Psychological Science. Kvale was also featured in Time magazine in 2018 for developing a successful four-day exposure therapy program.
