Gerhard "Charlie" Eitner, born on January 25, 1952, in Cottbus, is a German fusion jazz guitarist. He began his music career as a rock musician in his hometown before moving to East Berlin in 1973 to study at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler. During his studies, he was active in various rock and dance formations and worked as a session musician. He co-founded the group 'Fusion' in 1977 and later played in several ensembles, including Unit and his own trio, Splash, before focusing on solo performances and collaborations.
