Ghaffar Farzadi is an Iranian mathematician affiliated with the University of Tabriz. He is a senior member of the Freedom Movement of Iran, actively involved in its central council and serves as the head of its regional branch in Azerbaijan. Born in a politically active environment, Farzadi was previously a member of the Islamic Association of Students in India during the 1970s. He attempted to run for a parliamentary seat in the 2016 elections for Tabriz, Osku and Azarshahr but was disqualified by the Guardian Council due to political reasons.
