Ghislain Réty is a French general officer of the Gendarmerie nationale, currently serving as the commander of the GIGN (National Gendarmerie Intervention Group) since August 1, 2020. In 2021, he led a significant reform known internally as GIGN 3.0, the second major overhaul since the unit's establishment in 1974. This restructuring expanded the GIGN by incorporating all 14 agencies in metropolitan and overseas France, increasing its personnel from 400 to 1000, and enhancing its role in France's internal security.
