Gholamhossein Karbaschi is an Iranian reformist politician who served as the mayor of Tehran from 1989 to 1998. He is also the current Secretary-General of the Kārgozārān Party. A close ally of former President Rafsanjani, he was arrested in 1998 on corruption charges, which were widely viewed as a politically motivated attack by the conservative government against reformist forces.
