He fought in the Russian Civil War and participated in World War II, distinguishing himself in the defense of Rostov-on-Don. After the war, he was active in the Communist Party of Armenia and served as the Minister of Social Welfare of the Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic. Madoyan was a graduate of the Frunze Military Academy and was seriously wounded during the war, leading to his discharge from the army in 1944. He passed away on June 11, 1975.
