Giani Gurdit Singh (1923-2007) was a prominent Punjabi writer and journalist, born in Mithewal village, Punjab, India. His notable works include the classic book 'Mera Pind,' which has seen continuous publication since 1961. Singh was the Owner-Editor of the Punjabi newspaper Parkash from 1947 to 1978 and edited Singh Sabha Patrika from 1973 to 1988. As a graduate from Punjab University, he contributed to discussions leading to the establishment of Punjabi University, Patiala, and was actively involved in Sikh affairs, including founding Guru Granth Vidya Kendras.
