Gilbert Forbes (August 5, 1908 – August 30, 1986) was a surgeon, forensic pathologist, and professor. He studied medicine at the University of Glasgow, obtaining a B.Sc. in 1930, followed by MB and Ch.B. in 1933, and MD in 1945. He worked as a police surgeon in Sheffield and taught forensic medicine from 1937. Promoted to Senior Lecturer in 1948 and Reader in 1956, he became the Regius Professor of Forensic Medicine at the University of Glasgow in 1964, serving until his retirement in 1974.
