Gilson Machado Guimarães Filho was a Brazilian businessman and politician, born on May 14, 1942, in Recife. He served as a federal deputy in 1988 and was first elected in 1986. He was re-elected in 1990 but did not run in 1994. He was active in the sugar cane industry and held leadership roles in several agricultural organizations. He participated in presidential delegations to the U.S. and Mexico in the early 1980s. Machado passed away on April 22, 2018, in Recife after battling cancer.
