Gisela Buschendorf-Otto (1921–2011) was a German prehistorian, Egyptologist, and cultural anthropologist. She studied at the University of Halle and contributed significantly to the study of the Meroitic culture in Nubia through her work with the Sudan Expedition. Notably, she was involved in the documentation of prehistoric rock art related to the Aswan Dam project. Despite having published little in German prehistory, her works include the first popular scientific book on prehistory in the GDR and several expedition reports documenting her findings in Sudan.
