Git Elisabet Scheynius, born Andersson on November 14, 1960, in Mjölby, Sweden, is a prominent Swedish film festival manager. She studied film studies and cultural sciences at Stockholm University from 1983 to 1987. As the CEO of the Stockholm Film Festival since its inception in 1990, she also founded related initiatives and held key roles in film publications. Scheynius received the 'Best Festival Director' award at the International Film Festival Summit in Las Vegas in 2007 and has established scholarships to support film. She is married to Ignas Scheynius.
