Giyannedra Prasad (1 October 1959 – 1 June 2020) was a Fiji Indian politician known for his role in the 1999 elections, where he secured a seat in the House of Representatives for the Fiji Labour Party. Following his election, he became the Deputy Speaker. Notably, during the May 2000 hostage crisis, he was taken captive along with other members of the People's Coalition Government but was released after 56 days. He passed away from cancer on 1 June 2020 in Auckland.
