Glenda S. Curry is the twelfth bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Alabama, born on June 20, 1953. She has a background in nursing and higher education, serving as president of Troy State University at Montgomery from 1991 to 1999, where she established the Rosa Parks Library and Museum. Curry made history as the first woman to lead a four-year university in Alabama and as the first woman to become an Episcopal bishop in any of the five Deep South states. She was invested as bishop on January 9, 2021.
