He is also the founder of JustLeadershipUSA and initiated the #CLOSErikers campaign. Martin co-founded the Education from the Inside Out Coalition aimed at improving access to higher education for incarcerated individuals. He has been a media commentator on criminal justice issues across various platforms. Martin resigned from JLUSA amid sexual misconduct allegations in December 2017.
