Glenn Theodore Seaborg (April 19, 1912 - February 25, 1999) was an American chemist known for the discovery and study of ten transuranium elements, earning him a share of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1951. He developed the actinide concept and organized the actinide series in the periodic table. Seaborg spent most of his career at the University of California, Berkeley, advising U.S. presidents on nuclear policy and leading the Atomic Energy Commission. He discovered significant isotopes for medical applications and authored many publications, leaving a lasting impact on chemistry and nuclear science.
