Glenn Thompson was an American book publisher and activist born on September 24, 1940, in Harlem, New York. In 1968, he relocated to England, where he established a community-oriented bookshop named Centerprise in Hackney, East London. He later co-founded the Writers and Readers Cooperative in 1976, which was recognized for publishing the ...For Beginners series of documentary graphic nonfiction books. Thompson's work focused on promoting literacy and providing accessible literature to diverse communities. He passed away on September 7, 2001.
